Privacy Policy
Chords Explorer — Last updated: June 2026
1. Overview
Chords Explorer is a chord progression tool available on the web and as a native app (iOS, Android). This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.
2. Data collected
- Anonymous analytics — We use PostHog (EU region) to measure aggregate usage (sessions, events, features used) across the web, mobile and desktop apps. No name or account is collected; a randomly generated, anonymous identifier stored locally on your device is used to count returning sessions. On the web, PostHog derives an approximate, city-level location from your IP address; in the mobile and desktop apps, IP-based location is disabled, so no location is attached.
- Local storage — App preferences (language, sound settings, progression history, custom chords) are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
- Purchases — In-app purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play (native apps) or Stripe (web); validation uses RevenueCat. We do not store payment details. On the web only, if you use "restore purchase by email", your email address is sent to look up your Stripe purchase and is not stored afterwards.
3. Data not collected
We do not collect your name or precise location, we do not use advertising or cross-app tracking, and we never sell or share your data. The native apps do not collect your email or location.
4. Third-party services
5. Children
Chords Explorer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Changes
This policy may be updated occasionally. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
